I enjoyed delving deeper into the world of the Davenports, immersing myself in their world of luxury, Black excellence, and love. The backdrop of the fight for equality—for both women and Black people—added depth to the story, highlighting the challenges of navigating society during that time. More Than This neatly wraps up the journeys of our favorite characters, but I couldn’t help feeling that some storylines didn’t receive enough attention in the end. Overall, I’m giving the second installment of the Davenport series, More Than This, 3 stars!
